We still have a handful of slots left for the beginner field class.
For those who have signed up already, I’ve confirmed that you’re in the class, and I’ll be sending out more info by the end of the weekend. If you didn’t hear from me, please email me again because your request must have gotten lost in cyberspace – email@example.com
I did receive a couple of questions about class content, so just to let everyone know, if your dog already has legs towards a title or is close to entering, your dog is already beyond what this class teaches.
BEGINNER FIELD CLASS
THE CLASS IS LIMITED TO 15 DOGS
This is a structured five-session class. Emphasis is placed on dog and handler teamwork. Sessions build upon each other so it is VERY important that participants attend the majority of sessions (no more than 1 should be missed- the class is limited so don’t take up a spot if you can’t attend).
This introductory class is for dogs (retrieving breeds only) 7 months of age or older – no upper age limit.
Only one dog per handler.
Due to the limited number, dogs may not repeat the class. Handlers may repeat with another dog.
In order to sign up for the class you must be a member of PVGRC or have submitted an application to join.
One requirement of the class is that you *MUST* volunteer to work one full day at our 2021 fall or 2022 spring hunt test or our 2022 WC/WCX.
Class Instructors: Laurie Collins, Andy Moore
Our WC/WCX is on Sunday, 7/18, and there is a club training day on Sunday, August 8th, which is why we are skipping those weeks for class.
Class Location: Classes will take place at Sue & Rodger Armstrong’s property (Twin Ponds) in Monrovia, MD.
Time: The first class (July 10) will start at 9:00 a.m. Please plan to arrive 15 minutes early to air your dog and sign in. Class sessions generally last 2 to 3 hours.
Cost: $30. Please bring a check to the first class made out to PVGRC. Cash is also accepted.
To sign up or for more information contact: Laurie Collins (firstname.lastname@example.org).
