In-Person Club Meeting
You and your dog(s) are invited to PVGRC’s meeting on Sunday, February 8, from 12:30 to 4, at 6822 Distribution Dr, Beltsville, MD 207055. You are also welcome to bring guests with you.
Lunch & Meeting: PVGRC will provide a light lunch. Please bring your own beverage. To help avoid spills on ring matting, please use something with a lid. If you forget a beverage, CTA does have a refrigerator with some drinks available for $1 apiece. We need a count of people participating in order to bring the necessary sandwich makings. Therefore, please RSVP by filling out a very quick form at this link on pvgrc.org. You can also find the link under the Club Activities item on the main menu. No login is required. If you are bringing guests (especially prospective club members), please include their number in the RSVP for your party. Please RSVP no later than midnight on Wednesday, February 4th!
Crating: If you plan to crate your dogs inside the building, please bring a tarp/matting to put underneath your crate(s).
Novice Fetch Course: After our meeting, we will set up a Novice Fetch Course for anyone to try. More info on the set-up can be found at Test Levels and Titles. Basically, Novice consists of 3 single retrieves of 30 feet each. You can find a diagram of what to expect under Novice at the above link. This is a great activity for people with retrievers who love to retrieve, but you don’t have the time or desire to get into field work. Since we will be inside with ring gating surrounding our course, it may be better to bring something that won’t roll for your dog to retrieve. Toys or bumpers are acceptable, but if your dog only wants to pick up balls, we can accommodate. If you have a dog who isn’t sure how to retrieve, we can work with you on getting them more excited about it. While the course will be surrounded by ring gating, if you feel more comfortable not letting your dog totally loose in a potentially stimulating environment, feel free to bring a long line.
Door Prize: We will be awarding one lucky person with one free entry to one of PVGRC’s agility trials this year.
